The Sixth Stream of CHEMSS2017

The STREAM will include inter alia:

Synergy between global chemical conventions including the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal, The Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in Trade, and The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) as an essential element for strengthening chemical and environmental safety and security; sound management of chemicals and the Strategic Approach International Chemical Management (SAICM) as a catalyst and partner in striving for chemical-safe and secure, clean and healthy future; the mission and roles of the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre – ISC3 in the developing and mainstreaming sustainable chemistry; preventing and mitigating environmental impact of industrial accidents-the best practices and lessons learnt under the UN/ECE Convention on Industrial Accidents with Transboundary Effects and Seveso III Directive; managing wastes containing Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs); the best practices in utilizing the coal combustion products (CCPs) in the energy sector and underground chemical and environmental safety when exploring natural resource.
